Construction is well underway at the MacIntyre Wind Precinct. With a total investment of AU$1.96 billion, the 1,026MW project will be the company’s biggest #renewableenergy facility and one of the largest onshore wind farms in the southern hemisphere.
In June 2022, ACCIONA Energía celebrated the official sod turn marking the beginning of #construction. Since then, we have poured many foundations for the turbines, external roads have been cleared and graded, internal roads have been completed, turbine components are being delivered to the site from the Port of Brisbane and we are now assembling turbines. A lot of progress has been made on the project and we are looking forward to the many more milestones we will achieve in 2023. The wind precinct will generate clean energy for around 700,000 households and will help Queensland meet its #decarbonisation commitments and #climatechange mitigation strategies. As well as providing local jobs, the MacIntyre Wind Precinct will raise significant economic activity across the Goondiwindi, Southern Downs and Toowoomba Regional Council areas.
