How to draw simple optical line illusions (3D art for beginners). Created with a Sharpie and HB pencil on 110lb cardstock. I first draw out a border creating a rectangle.
With graphite lead I apply dark to light shading inside the center. This enhances the impression of a 3D optical illusion and makes it look like a large hole.
