In this video, I explain how to enable the Developer tab in Word for Windows.

The developer tab in Microsoft Word includes buttons and features such as:
The visual basic editor
View macros window
Record macro button
Word add-ins menu
Content control features (tick box, drop-down menus, text and image controls, and more)

If you are wanting to edit or create macros, you will spend a lot of time in the developer tab.

To enable the developer tab you need to open the ribbon customization options. This can be done in two ways:
1. (a) Click File (b) Then select options on the bottom left (what I do in this video)
2. (a) Right-click on the current ribbon tabs and (b) select Customize the ribbon

To enable the Developer tab, then scroll down on the right-hand side (Customize the ribbon) until you see the unticked box for Developer. Tick the box and press OK.

The Developer tab is now available in Word for Windows ribbon.

You will only ever have to do this once. This option will be enabled every time you open up Microsoft Word in the future.
