Dell has unveiled two new laptop models based on Qualcomm's newly-released "Snapdragon X Plus" SoCs: the Inspiron 14 5541 and the Latitude 5455. Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Plus SKUs are targeting the entry-level segment of the market in an attempt to expand its scope of influence, competing directly with counterparts from Intel and AMD. In order to join the race, Dell has expanded its portfolio of Qualcomm-based laptops, now offering two different models, the Inspiron 14 5541 and the Latitude 5455, both of them including different Snapdragon X Plus chips in order to provide consumers with a range of offerings and transition the Snapdragon platform from a more "premium" product to "budget-oriented" users. Starting with Dell's Inspiron 14 5541, the laptop features Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 SoC, which offers a 10-core count configuration with clock speeds up to 3.4 GHz. This particular chip offers 45 AI TOPS, which is an industry benchmark and certainly impressive for silicon that isn't targeting the higher-end markets. Along with this, the Inspiron 14 5541 also offers the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100, which is an 8-core chip that is a relatively inferior offering, probably one of the baseline options in the whole Qualcomm lineup. Moving onto other details, the Inspiron 14 5541 features 16 GB LPDDR5x-8448 memory and offers storage up to 1TB. This is probably the baseline specification in all Qualcomm laptops, and Dell isn't offering any higher configuration for now. In terms of display, it is a 14.0-inch FHD+ IPS display with a peak brightness of 300 nits. For ports and network connectivity, the laptop comes with a 2x USB Type-C port, along with a USB Gen 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port and a dedicated micro SD card reader. Next up is the Latitude 5455, which offers the same Qualcomm SoCs as the Inspiron 14 5541, and other specifications are pretty much similar as well, with the key difference lying in the overall design language. Both laptops by Dell are a commitment to the markets in bringing budget-oriented Qualcomm laptops, and as stated by Qualcomm's CEO, the firm is committed to introducing products that are more friendly on the pockets, and the new Inspiron 14 5541 and the Latitude 5455 indeed support this fact.
