It's a traditional sea shanty performed by Robert Alexander White and Tim Laycock, and is arguable as a sad version of Blow the Man Down. This track is mainly associated with Mr. Krabs or the Flying Dutchman. Some people think the beginning of this track is the beginning of the waltz version of the Drunken Sailor, but it's really not.
This sad sailor theme plays in various episodes from seasons 2-6 and only two from season 7.
Honestly, I wish this theme to be back in newer episodes. I don't know why music directors on the series don't get that people like old songs like this, why do not they only once understand that we like these. But SpongeBob keeps going worse! If only they would bring older songs, that would make SpongeBob just a bit better than he is now. And I hate beacuse they repeat putting same cartoon tracks all the time, the're stuped! (not all of them).
And what blows me off every time is Hot Steel and Slide Licks,
They should put back steel tracks! And if you listen to these newer episodes, you could hear that almost all music from the episodes are unknown sailor and cartoon tracks and HSSL!
If they would change that, things would be better.
I don't own anything.
