The City of Sydney's novel climate action approach uses Esri GIS to advance tree equity for residents - no matter where they live. More than planting the right trees in the right places, the city's boundaryless urban tree canopy cover increased the variety of trees from 68 types to nearly 90. Not only did this improve access to trees for neighborhoods that need it most, but the specific trees also help to advance the biodiversity of birds.
