Writen instructions:
1.Get a copy of call of duty modern warfare remastered (2017)'s files
2.Download the HMW Launcher from the HorizonMW Discord / discord
3.Extract the HMW Launcher.zip inside your call of duty MWR folder
4.Go to your steam and add HMW Launcher.exe as a non-steam game
5.Make it run with proton experimental in "Compatibility" and you will get a error saying you are missing .NET and asks you if you want to install it. Click "Yes".
6.Go into HMW Launcher "Properties" on steam and change the "Target" to the .NET installer you got, while making sure to add quotation marks ("") at the start and end of the "Target" and double check that the "Start in" points at your game's folder. Run it and Install .NET
7.Back into "Properties" and point the "Target" back to HMW Launcher.exe and run it, I should now open.
8.Ignore the two errors and just click "ok" on them and click "Verify game files", then once done, click "ok" and click "Download Missing Files" and verify once again to double check. Once done and you get a message that "Everything checks out!" you can click "ok" and close the launcher
9.Download the Linux patched h2m-mod.exe file from https://github.com/MichaelDeets/Horiz... and place it at the root of your cod MWR folder, overwriting the old one.
10.Add h2m-mod.exe to your steam as a non-steam game, make it run with proton experimental and under "Launch Options" add "-nosteam"
And you are done, enjoy HMW, call of duty modern warfare 2 multiplayer remastered
Some useful console comands are
name (change username)
cg_drawFPS 1 (draws fps)
com_maxfps (lets you cap fps, 0 being unlimited)
r_vsync 0 (game has some hickups for me when vsync is on)
statsReset and prestigeReset (the H1 + H2 download comes with a save file for some reason at lvl 70, you those 2 commands to reset yourself back to lvl 1)
If you are using a vpn 99% of servers will auto kick you, try split tunneling steam to play.
