How to Add Friends on STEAM with Friend Code, Link or Search for their Name (Steam Tutorial)
Adding friends on Steam is essential for multiplayer gaming, coordinating with buddies, and sharing gaming experiences. You can do this in three different ways:
Friend Code:
Open the Steam application.
Click on “Friends” in the toolbar at the top (or from the menu bar on a Mac).
Select “Add a Friend” from the drop-down menu.
You have two options:
Send a Friend Code: Share the generated code with your friend. They’ll paste it into the text field on the same page. Click “Send Invite” to add them.
Use a Link: Steam generates a link that you can send to anyone. When they click it, they’ll be added to your Friends List. Remember, this link expires after 30 days and can be shared with anyone.
Alternatively, if you know their username, search for it on Steam and click “Add Friend” on their profile page.
Username Search:
If you don’t have easy access to their profile, search for their username. Look for the same profile picture you see in-game, and once you’re on their profile, click “Add Friend” on the right side of the page.
Steam Website:
Sign in to the Steam website in your browser.
Hover over your username in the Steam menu and select “Friends” from the drop-down menu.
Click “Add a Friend” and follow the prompts.
