Described by Alex Ross as “an astounding book about an astounding place,” All the Beauty in the World documents former New Yorker staffer Patrick Bringley's ten years working as a guard at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Bringley offers an insider take on one of the most remarkable art collections in the world in a book that NPR calls “art appreciation at a profound level.” It is, in part, a story about overcoming grief and, in its entirety, a story about what art does for us. Patrick Bringley previously worked in the editorial events office at the New Yorker. He is in conversation with Maura Hogan, Arts Critic at The Post and Courier.
