How to create UniFi! Guest Portal Vouchers
Creating UniFi Guest Portal vouchers for your Wi-Fi network is a practical way to manage guest access. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up UniFi Guest Portal vouchers:
1. Access UniFi Controller:
Open your UniFi Controller interface on a computer that's connected to your UniFi network.
2. Navigate to Settings:
In the UniFi Controller, click on "Settings" located on the left-hand side menu.
3. Create a WiFi SSID and Hotspot:
Create a new WiFi SSID Under the "Advanced" section, select "Hotspot Portal."
4. Enable Hotspot:
Toggle the "Hotspot Portal " switch to the ON position.
5. Configure Hotspot Options: On the left hand side Menu you get the option as Hotspot manager click on that and then define landing page Authentication customize it.
Hotspot Type: Choose the type of hotspot you want to create. "Guest Portal" is the most common choice.
Guest Control: Enable this option to require guest users to authenticate before accessing the network.
Authentication: Choose "Voucher" as the authentication method.
6. Create a Voucher Duration Profile:
Scroll down to "Voucher Duration/Expiration" and click on "Create New Duration Profile."
Set the duration for voucher validity (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days) and give it a name. Click "Save."
7. Create Vouchers:
Under "Hotspot Manager ," click on "Create Vouchers."
Set the number of vouchers you want to create and select the duration profile you just created.
Click "Create."
8. Distribute Vouchers:
Provide guests with the printed vouchers. They can use these to authenticate and access the network.
9. Monitor Usage:
You can monitor the usage of vouchers, including when they are activated and their remaining time, by going to "Hotspot manager" -"Voucher."
10. Revoke Vouchers (Optional):
To manually expire vouchers, go to "Hotspot" - "Voucher," select the voucher(s) you want to Revoke, and click "Revoke."
That's it! You've created UniFi Guest Portal vouchers, allowing you to manage guest access to your Wi-Fi network efficiently. Guests can simply enter the voucher code or scan the QR code to gain access, and you can track usage and expiration as needed.
