Solus Ipse - from Latin solus 'alone', and ipse 'self' is the philosophical idea that only one's mind can be sure to exist. We are all alone inside our minds, yet we desperately seek to connect and share the universe within each and every one of us through rudimentary tools such as language. What would the world be like if we had telepathy? If we could actually see with someone else's eyes, if we could feel someone else's emotions, think their thoughts. What if we could bridge brains to the point where two people become a single entity? What if you could know someone else like you know yourself?
While the lyrics talk about transcending mental barriers, the production aims to transcend geographical barriers by picking sounds from around the globe and blending them together. From Lithuanian cellos to a Middle Eastern derbake, you will hear a range of instruments coming together to celebrate the unifying power of music.
