Their daughter, Alix, who is studying pastry making, is saddened to see her mother dejected. She helps her regain her self-confidence, but when Dany meets Eric, a 40-year-old artist, and falls in love with him, she warns her mother against false hopes and the risks of being abandoned again. An argument takes place, and Alix calls her mother a "Cougar".
Alix, helped by a friend named Nicolas, will do everything so that her mother meets another man, in this case Gérard, Nicolas' father, who like Dany is a fan of rugby, cooking and classical music. But everything will not go as planned: Gérard, if he is indeed divorced, is attracted to Dany's colleague, a dentist like her, while Nicolas falls in love with Alix...
