This is the 18th episode in my daily design series, where I'll be designing a new UI element (or web page) every single day. In this episode I continue on from episode 17 ( • Daily Design 017 - Pinterest Dashboar... ) and designed the Pin Overlay for Pinterest.
Just like before, I start out with some wireframing to help me think through the layout, then jumped into Photoshop to create the final design.
I apologize, I ran out of time and couldn't do the voiceovers this episode. I hope you still enjoy the video!

How long have you been a designer?
I've been designing for a bit past 10 years now... As of typing this. So it's probably longer now ;)

I do both... Don't limit yourself to one!

I'm wanting to learn design... Where should I start?
I created a mini course for Developers (or anyone wanting to get started with design) who want to learn design, which you can sign up for free on my website at https://mackenziechild.me/developers-...

I'd like to hire you to help me solve some [UI / UX / Visual Identity / Branding / Etc] problems.
I'd love to help out. I'm currently selectively taking on projects. Shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can discuss more.

What's your setup?
I have a 27" iMac with two thunderbolt displays (turned vertically) that I do most of my work on. A 15" Macbook Pro for when I don't want to be stuck in my office.
I use Photoshop & Illustrator constantly, but also have played with Sketch a bit too (I'm so much faster at Photoshop so it's hard for me to switch). Also, I have a notebook for sketching / notes by my side at all times :) Can't beat pen & paper.

What do you use to make these videos?
I have a Canon T3i that I use for my intro along with a Rode Videomic Pro to get better audio.
For lighting I have the cheapest lighting setup around (literally, haha) that I picked up on Amazon. Cowboy Studio Lighting I think it was called... And also a big window helps light a bit.
I use Screenflow to record the screencasts and Final Cut Pro to put everything together.
I get my music either from my brother who produces music (http://www.michael-child.com/) OR from a site called epidemicsound.com.
