In today’s video, learn how to quickly create a metal barrel model inside of Blender!
This is an excellent exercise for practicing how to use edge loops, the extrude tool, and the bevel tool to create shapes inside of Blender!

Barrel Modeling Steps
Add cylinder – 32 sides
Scale Down
Edit mode – move top up/bottom down (G + Z)
Add loop cuts – Control + R – scroll mouse wheel for first 2, then individual
Extrude out – Alt+Shift+Click to get edge loops, then E to extrude, S to scale out, shift z to keep same level
Bevel Edges – remember to select just loop edges, not intermediate – Alt+Shift+Click, then Control + B, then move mouse and scroll wheel
Extrude Top in
Add Cap – Inset to create circle, then move edges along face. (I, click, select face, G + Shift Z)
Extrude Cap Up – E + Z
Add Edge Loops (2) – CTRL+R, Scroll Up, Click
Inset top, Extrude Down – I, E + Z
Apply Material with Shading Tab
