Abby, the chair of the Early Childhood Educator Pay Equity Fund Task Force, discussed the group's recent work and their upcoming deadlines. The task force, consisting of 17 members with diverse backgrounds and expertise, initially aimed to provide recommendations for the Pay Equity Fund. However, due to changes in the budget, their focus shifted to provide short-term recommendations by September 30th to adjust the Pay Equity Fund to fit within the new budget constraints while centering those furthest from opportunity and disrupting systemic inequities. Additionally, Joanna planned to circulate emergency legislation for consideration by the Council before a legislative meeting, and the Under 3 Coalition would inform the early education sector about how to contact the Council based on the recommendations. The next coalition call was scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd at 6:30 PM Eastern to discuss the analysis of the final recommendations.
