first select the new item folder in your project panel and create a new color matte, next drag the color matte onto your top video clip on the timeline. Now over in effect controls panel, under opacity click on create 4 point polygon mask this will put a rectangle edged shape on your video.
To create curved rectangle edges in your video, hover around the polygon on your project monitor until the double sided arrow appears. now hold down the shift key and drag it down to create the size of the polygon you want. remove the mask feather to zero, and increase the mask amount to increase its roundness and this will make the rectangle shape turn into rounded rectangle edges in Premiere pro,
