How to Fix Firmware Issue - PAX S80
End of Life Pax S80 repair or reuse after end of life. How to Fix Firmware Issue.
If all the hardware is still good, then sometime firmware need to be updated.
3 firmware issues:
1 - connect to the internet, but the terminal is showing no communication/comm error and cannot download (boot screen menu can download just fine)
2 - Emv chip not operating after download file
3 - "Error Lookup suppor" Error, booting or loading screen stop loading
update firmware steps:
1. Turn off power, once off, hold down MENU button, then power back on, during self-test screen, press func key then press cancel
2. download menu will appear, select remote download (3)
3. New download
4. Select Tcp/ip
5. IP address: 216.238.144.195
6. Port 8582
7. Enable DHCP, 1 for yes
8. Terminal ID 80808097
(Sometime emv chip firmware will block the terminal from going into remote download menu, just keep clicking F and Menu at the same time continuously until you crash the system, to allow into remote download menu. For emv firmware update, I had to use TID 80000001)
This is the latest terminal id to fix all 3 issues. Some TID only fix 1 particular issue, while the latest TID can fix most. Good luck!
