Nothing ruins a VFX shot faster than an unrealistic camera movement.
It can be easy to get excited by the possibilities of a virtual camera without limits...
...but you always want to shoot for realistic camera movements.
This is going to ground your effects in realism and stop the viewer from being disconnected from the scene.
If you want to sell an effect even more, you can even go for a handheld look for the camera.
Imperfections like lens flares, lens debris and dust, camera shake, etc. can really help sell even a full CGI shot.
