BEST CAMERA SETTINGS FOR PORTRAITS: Tips for Nailing Your Exposure in Natural Light (Day or Night)

Some general tips:
1) open the aperture as wide as you can to get a pleasing bokeh effect or blurry background
2) Use a shutter speed of 1/50 second or faster. Anything slower will likely lead to a blurry photo, especially if your model moves.
3) Keep your ISO as low as possible to reduce noise/grain in your image.
4) Shoot in manual mode to gain the most control of your exposure.
Here are some settings I typically shoot with:
NATURAL LIGHT - DAYTIME (SUNNY)
f/1.8 - f/4
ISO 100
Shutter Speed 1/4000
NATURAL LIGHT - DAY TIME (CLOUDY)
f/1.8
ISO 100
Shutter Speed 1/100 - 1/1000
GOLDEN HOUR
f/1.8
ISO 100-400
Shutter 1/100-1/1000
NIGHT TIME (with no flash)
f/1.8
ISO 800-1200
Shutter 1/50
