Kolkata Protests News LIVE: During the ongoing ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ rally organized by the student group Paschimbanga Chattro Samaj, the West Bengal police have deployed water cannons to disperse protesters on Howrah Bridge.
The protest is centered on the recent rape and murder of a trainee doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. The Paschimbanga Chattro Samaj had called for a ‘March to Nabanna’ today, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. However, the police had denied permission for the demonstration.
