Before you switch phones, back up content, data, and settings from your old phone with Drive. When you sign in to your Google Account on your new phone, your data will be restored.

Before we dive into this tutorial please note that Settings and features vary by device and Android version.
In this tutorial we will be using a Samsung galaxy s8 phone. So the steps might be different on your phone.

0:29 Step 1.
When you back up your old phone with Drive, you’ll save:
Apps,
Call history,
Device settings,
Contacts,
Calendar,
To manage your backups, on your old phone, swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
0:43 Step 2.
Search for and open the Google Drive app on your device.
0:47 Step 3.
Tap the Menu icon which is the 3 horizontal bars in the top left hand corner.
0:53 Step 4.
Now look for and tap on Backups.
0:57 Step 5.
Under this device, tap Galaxy s8 backup since we are using that device in this video.
1:03 Step 6. Now tap the 3 dots in the top right hand corner.
1:08 Step 7.
On the window that appears tap Backup Settings.
1:11 Step 8.
Review the details of backing up your phone with Google One. Then, tap Back up now.
1:17 Step 9.
Once your backup is finished, scroll down to see the backup details.
1:22 Step 10.
Now you can restore a backup on a new phone that’s signed in to the same Google Account.
The data you backed up on your old phone gets put onto the new phone.
To restore backup on your new phone, follow the on-screen steps.
