Cipher Decoders are needed to open Encrypted Cache within the Haunted Forest. If you want to get the exotic ghost, sparrow, and ship, you'll need to open 45 of them total! The issue is right now, they're not dropping very consistently from playlist strikes, crucible, or gambit matches.
Right now, the fastest way to farm cipher decoders is by doing patrols. The area that I like to farm is the Winding Cove, in the EDZ. The patrols here are very predictable, and you can rinse and repeat this area very fast. Once you're done, you can either fast travel to a new location in EDZ and eventually make your way back to winding cove, or simply go to orbit and return.
Focus on kill everything patrols or defeat fallen enemies. Both of these can be done super fast.
With any luck, you'll be swimming in cipher decoders!
