1. Go to Start.
2. Type Command Prompt in the Windows search box.
3. Right-click on the first result and choose the Run as administrator option.
4. Copy and paste this command: wmic memorychip get devicelocator, memorytype
5. Hit Enter.
6. You can find the memory type under the MemoryType column.
