Blogging, especially for beginners, can be a really difficult thing to do. There are so many “guru” types of people to follow and there is so much conflicting information, it’s hard to know what are the right actions to take when you’re starting out. I feel like I’m unique when it comes to giving advice because I blog myself, but I also have a portfolio of 9 different blogs that I run with a team that earns tens of thousands of dollars every month.
In today’s video, I’m going to pretend like I’m talking to myself when I first started out and give you 11 pieces of advice I wish I would have heard when I was starting out as a blogger.
1) STICK IT OUT FOR A YEAR (CONSISTENTLY)
2) DON’T FOCUS ON MONEY, FOCUS ON PRODUCTION
3) TRUST THE PROCESS
4) AIM TO CREATE THE BEST PIECE OF CONTENT ON YOUR TOPIC (ALWAYS)
5) DON’T “WRITE IT” AND HOPE THEY WILL COME (THEY WON’T)
6) UNDERSTAND THAT NUMBERS ARE PEOPLE
7) REALIZE YOUR PERSONALITY IS A STRENGTH
People connect with people, not brands
8) ANSWER QUESTIONS FOR CONTENT YOU CREATE
9) LOW COMPETITION AND LOW SEARCH VOLUME IS GREAT
10) ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS
Don’t start new projects
Focus on content, not how pretty your blog is
11) DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
