A business idea to help Gen Ys find short-term work has turned into a full-time career for 23-year-old Genevieve George, founder and chief executive of online recruitment start-up OneShift.
Specialising in jobs for casual, part-time and shift workers, since launching 17 months ago OneShift has secured a quarter of a million jobseekers, a team of 35 and $5 million in investment.
By July 2013, after only a year of business, OneShift had grown to 100,000 members and garnered 145,000 Facebook likes. The same month saw the team take out three Australian Business Awards including the 2013 Winner for Business Innovation, the 2013 Winner for Enterprise and the 2013 Winner for e-Business.
