2nd Grade Math 4.12, Find Sums of 4 Addends
We can use the same methods we used to add 3 numbers to add 4 numbers. We can add 4 numbers by making a 10, adding doubles facts, adding near doubles facts, finding the sum we know, or starting at the top and continuing down. We add the ones first, then the tens, in case we need to regroup 10 ones as 1 ten. Remember to add all of the digits in each column. We can add pairs of digits first. We can add the digits in the Tens column using the same ways. We solve 3 word problems that involve finding the sum of 4 addends.
