How To Use A "Real Camera" For Vertical Video
It had to happen eventually…I turned my camera sideways 😵
I’ve been playing around with IGTV, and while I’m still figuring out the platform, I’ve managed to put together a decent workflow for editing and uploading vertical video to Instagram IGTV and Facebook. If you want to see my goofy videos, check out @sodanrtom
I’m using Final Cut Pro, but these same settings can be created using pretty much any other editing software:
Project Size: 1080 X 1920 (9:16 aspect ratio)
FPS: 24 or 30 (IG prefers 30fps, but I can’t bring myself to use that)
File Format: MP4
Resolution: 720p minimum (1080 preferred)
Length: 15 seconds to 10 minutes

I’ve just been sharing these videos directly to Facebook with the same settings, and they work great.
