In this FCPX tutorial, I will show you how to create a transition that Sam Kolder uses in his new video about the DJI Mavic Air.
The awesome thing about that transition is that you really can't see
the transition anymore.
So the way Sam Kolder does that in his video is actually quite simple. He masks the transition area of the first clip out and then uses luma keying (it's an effect in Final Cut Pro X) to create a perfect mask of that part of the video.
That makes it possible for him to go smoothly and seamlessly from one clip to the other.
Of course, you need the right clips to do that. Especially the motion of both clips should match and you also need a part in the first clip where you have dark shadows on bright background. If that is the case, creating this kind of mask transition is actually very easy.
In this video tutorial, I will show you exactly how it is done. So you can use this element of the Sam Kolder editing style in addition to yours.
