In this video, we share highlights from our 60th Anniversary activities in Tobago on September 13 and 14, 2024. The Central Bank, led by Governor Alvin Hilaire, organized two impactful outreach events which showcased the Bank's commitment to financial education and environmental sustainability across the nation.
On Friday, September 13, we hosted a special Schools Outreach Day at the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort in Tobago, building on the successful Schools Outreach Week held in Trinidad in June. Over 100 students from 16 primary and secondary schools across Tobago participated in interactive activities designed to deepen students' understanding of financial literacy, currency education, and the roles and functions of the Central Bank.
On Saturday, September 14, we collaborated with the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme to continue our “60 Years, 60 Trees” tree planting initiative in Richmond, Tobago, expanding on the tree planting held in Trinidad in May 2024.
These initiatives reaffirm our commitment to financial education and environmental sustainability and community stewardship, supporting the reforestation of our beloved Trinidad and Tobago.
