Hey everyone!! I know I havent been active much lately.. Been working on some game projects as I really want to start producing playable games: In my current development project I have several traversal types I wish to implement and this a small piece of the early stages of the grappling system - Hopes to include zip to grapple point and grab / pull objects towards you using the grapple hook - Animations and grapple launcher will change as both were just quickly made in blender for testing purposes.
Current system includes:
Ability to Fire Grapple Hook
Create physics constraint simulation between point and player to provide smooth swing physics
Speed and direction calculated based off player / physics object velocity
Detach from grapple with velocity slow and slight upward launch
Raise and lower using grapple launcher - motion does impact swing velocity to provide fun and dynamic swing mechanics
