Linn established itself in Scotland 1973 with a single product, the Sondek LP12 turntable, which some people believe is one of the most iconic turntables of all time. This year marks Linn’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate, the company has released the Sondek LP12-50 turntable, which carries a retail price of $60,000 in the United States. One of its claims to fame is the involvement of world-famous designer Jony Ive, who is best known for his past work at Apple. But is the design any good? And is this turntable worth that much money? In this video, SoundStage! founder Doug Schneider gives you his thoughts on these issues—and at the end, he also asks for your thoughts about this interesting but controversial product.
