Welcome to the first episode in this series on Shopify Theme Development where we're about to discuss topics around building and customising a Shopify store through the use of a theme.
Shopify is a fully featured eCommerce platform. You might think of it just a place to build an online store but in reality, Shopify allows you to sell in many different sales channels whether it be through POS, through existing online platforms or through your own storefront using the Storefront API.
Of course, most users will operate primarily through the Online Store sales channel and a theme allows you to control the look and to some extent, the functionality of online store.
