Testing the Flint GL-AX1800 Beta Firmware - Based on OpenWRT 21.02
GL-iNet shared a beta firmware for the Flint GL-AX1800 router. In this video, let's check out the new firmware and test the OpenVPN, Wireguard throughput with OpenSpeedTest and iperf3.
The beta Firmware 4 is based on OpenWRT 21.02 with kernel version 4.4.60. It is using the OpenWRT 21.02 snapshot repo and some of the packages/dependencies are not available. Because of this, not all package can be installed. For example, I was unable to install luci-app-sqm due to kmod-sched-cake is not available. Also, Software Offloading is not available in this build.
Please note that, this is a "unofficial beta firmware" shared by a GL-iNet's developer on their forum. There should be a lot of bugs. Therefore, try as your own risk.
