These are the steps that I took to getting a frontend developer job in London in 2019, but I believe that with a little tweaking, this advice can be applied all over the world
1. CV
This needs to be you’re #1 focus. I’ve seen a lot of stuff about how it needs to be full of keywords, and technologies, but in reality, list off the main technologies you know,
2. Looking at company Websites
Make a list of the places you would like to work then go and look at their careers pages. Think outside the box, what is a company you use, who supplies them? Does a website have a built by banner?
3. Recruiters
Lots of people don’t like recruiters, as they are basically sales people looking to make a quick commission on you or place you in a role that you are not suited to. But they have a tonne of connections and roles available
Google High tech recruiter and your city and send off your cv to the first 5 companies that pop up your phone will then blow up with phone calls and take it from there
4. Platforms
Talent.io
Angel List
Stackoverflow Jobs
So there are a few ways to go about it. I ended up getting my first job through a recruiter and my second though a tech platform, but I also had a lot of potential though sending out my CV and representing myself, so just get yourself out there and don’t give up.
