Astronomer Néstor Espinoza of Space Telescope Science Institute spoke with EarthSky's Deborah Byrd about the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, a new mission planned to launch in 2027. Néstor told us this telescope should increase the number of known exoplanets - or planets orbiting distant suns - from 5,000 now to 100,000 in just 5 years!
