Carnot Heat Engine
This engine is theortical Heat engine which is not possible in actual life This is discovered by sadi carnot (French Engineer) in 1824
It is best known Reversible cycle
It is composed total 4 process
1) Reversible Isothermal Expansion Process
In this process heat is added at constant temperature which is not possible in actual life
entropy of the system is increase in this process
Boundary of system is expand in this process
2) Reversible Adiabatic Expansion Process Also called Isentropic process (Entropy constant)
In this process system is insulated and it is very fast process so that heat transfer is negligible system to surroundings
in this process temperature of system is decreased
3) Reversible Isothermal Compression Process
In this process heat is rejected by the system when work is done on the system
in this process entropy of system is decreased
4) Reversible Adiabatic Compression Process
In this process system is insulated and internal energy is increse in this process
so there are total 4 process in carnot heat engine
all are reversible
and reversible process cannot be acheived in reality due to presence of friction
or not possible to transfer heat in isothermal process in actual life and also difficult to achieve the fast process incase of adiabatic
there are the following reason so that we cannot make this type of heat engine
So the final result is that this engine have highest efficiency as compared to actual heat engine
