Yaa Gyasi discusses "Homegoing" at the 2016 Library of Congress Book Festival in Washington, D.C.
Speaker Biography: Yaa Gyasi was born in Ghana and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. She graduated from Stanford University and received an MFA from the Iowa Writer's Workshop, where she held a dean's graduate research fellowship. Gyasi's short stories have been published in African American Review and Callaloo. Her debut novel, "Homegoing" , follows the stories of two half-sisters and their descendants through generations in Ghana and America. Gyasi lives in California.
