After installing Ubuntu Desktop on my Windows PC as a Dual-boot on an external M.2 NVMe drive, I noticed that Ubuntu put the Grub boot loader as the primary boot manager. While this functionally allows me to choose to boot either Ubuntu or Win11, I had to constantly keep the external drive attached. Otherwise, Grub would error out because the boot loader is physically on the external drive. Constantly keeping the external drive attached was not a condition I desired.
I was relieved to find out the Win11 boot manager had not been overwritten, but rather moved from being the primary boot loader to the secondary boot loader. How to reserve that condition to put the Windows 11 boot manager as the primary boot loader on startup? It's easily done in the UEFI firmware (BIOS) settings. In this video, I'll walk you through the process step by step.
