Welcome back, you've found Fritz!
Today I'll be taking an independent deep dive into the Apogee Boom 2x2 USB-C Audio Interface!
On top of a general breakdown of the Boom's Features, advantages and disadvantages, we'll test its preamp against the SSL2. This unit shares very close preamp specifications to the BOOM.
The test will be conducted using an acoustic guitar and the Shure SM7B for a voiceover test.
We'll do a brief analysis of the instrument inputs, and we'll also compare the Boom's featured "Zero Ohm" Headphone amp and the D/A of the unit, meaning the Digital to Analog speaker outputs to the SSL. Then we'll also see how Apogee's entry level interface stacks up against the monitoring quality of its Flagship, the Symphony Mk II.
