Duduk is an ancient Armenian instrument with an unusual deep and melancholic timbre. In Armenia it is also called the word Tziranapoh, which means an apricot pipe. It rightfully bears this name because it is made exclusively of apricot wood, however, like many other Armenian folk instruments. It should be noted that this instrument is about 3000 years old. The first mentions of it were found in ancient manuscripts of the state of Urartu, which was located on the territory of the Armenian Highlands. This is approximately the 8th century before the birth of Christ. From this we can conclude that the instrument is very ancient and practically did not undergo any changes during its entire existence.
