Anyone with a soldering iron can do this repair. Might not be my prettiest repair job, but it works. After the video, I did go back and clean it up. It does look much better. I ended up using a leg off a new capacitor, bent it into shape, then soldered it on. Sadly I didn't think to do that for my video.
I actually broke my lid sensor on this Nintendo GameCube. It broke when I was putting it back together and did not have the lid open. I was lucky that only 1 of the fingers broke. If both would have broken, It would be a different spot I would have jumped, but that would mean the disk would spin regardless if the door was open or not.
If you want to just replace the sensor, you can. Just look on Google, eBay or Amazon. I'm sure you will find some. They seem to run around 15 US dollars.
