MAST30026 Lecture 5: Minkowski space and special relativity (Part 1)

I introduced the setting of special relativity, with observers in relative motion in the plane, wrote down Einstein's postulates and completed the process of translating them into a formalised mathematical setting as a set of properties of a bijection from R^3 to R^3. Next lecture we will analyse these properties and arrive at the abstract notion of Minkowski space.

NOTE: There are some slight differences between the presented version and the notes, since I decided to change the emphasis slightly going into the second lecture (e.g. (SR-4)' has been modified). This is addressed at the beginning of the video for Part 2.
