I began this PC Engine CD playlist with the very first but one of the worst games in the system ("Fighting Street" aka "Street Fighter") so I must atone by showing you now one of the very best. Not only that, but also one of the very best games in the whole Castlevania series! "Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo" is an incredible evolution to the series after the already impressive "Super Castlevania IV", boasting anime cut scenes and one of the finest red book audio soundtracks to date. It is also incredibly challenging but never unfair. Plus, you will need to replay it several time in order to discover all secret paths and rescue the four maidens in order to watch the true best ending, its a game that just keeps on giving. It was the number one SuperGrafx-CD import game back in the day and it's easy to understand why. After many years it was finally released in the West on the Wii Virtual Console and as a hidden game in the PSP remake "Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles". I am lucky own both versions. The original remains quite a collector item, especially if you're into all things Castlevania. Enjoy a few minutes of early gameplay!
