Logitech "Easy-Switch" bug with Mac and PC and MX Mouse and Keyboard
Logitech's Easy-Switch [edit: "Flow", is the correct term I think] is a good idea but it does not work very well between Mac and Windows. Here I am showing the problems I encounter with my Mac on the left and a PC on the right. I have Logitech Options set to switch the MX 3 mouse and MX 3 keyboard between computers whenever the mouse reaches the monitor edges. Moving from PC to Mac (right to left) is relatively painless but problems happen whenever I need to switch from Mac to PC (left to right). The mouse rarely registers the monitor edge and I have to keep banging the cursor to the right until the Logitech software picks ups my movements and transfers control to the PC.
The video shows me trying to "bang" the cursor several times until the switch happens but more often than not it takes many many tries. I counted 90 at one point. And because I am doing a repetitive left and right motion I might miss the fact that it transferred and push the mouse back over to the Mac. Often I resort to manually pressing the mouse toggle button (inconveniently located on the bottom of the mouse) and pressing the appropriate button on the keyboard to switch that as well. I need to manually press buttons on both devices when the "easy-switch" feature doesn't work.
An unexpected behavior is the that "1", "2", and "3" buttons on the keyboard do not affect the mouse. If these buttons on the keyboard could also transfer the mouse it would make the "easy-switch" bug less of a problem.
The reason I bought this Keyboard/Mouse combo is for the "easy-switch" feature. I hope Logitech can address this soon.
I have gone through this issue with Logitech tech support and I have reinstalled the software several times on both machines. I have also switched between using the included wireless dongle supplied with the mouse and the bluetooth option on the Mac. My PC does not have bluetooth so I am using the dongle for that.
