EVGA Z790 Classified - The Most Interesting Motherboard from EVGA for Z790? In-Depth Overview
After I saw the Z790 Classified at the EVGA Overclocking event in Taiwan in early December with all of its new features, I wanted to test it out myself and see how close could it go to the DARK KP. This time around they actually managed to implement the rotated socket for the first time on the Classified as well, which is very hard with 4 memory slots.
Now the price difference is only 100 dollars or so, so the Classified could actually be the better option for daily use only, as you have the option to go for higher memory capacities for work station use for example. The PCB layer count was bumped on both motherboard models, so I think both models are in the top tier range for memory overclocking, even with 4 memory slots what the Classified has.
One the video I take a very extensive look at the motherboard's PCB and all of the tiny features it has, and also talk a little bit about the backgrounds of the development and what insights I have from an enthusiast point of view.
The biggest test for the board will be how high can it run 4 individual memory DIMMs. My target would be as close to DDR5-8000 as possible with good timings but that we will discover on the later video.
