In this Early Years maths activity, children can build number recognition skills by selecting the correct numeral to represent 0-5 objects. The activity is easy to set up and requires very little preparation or resources. You can make number cards 0-5 before asking children to select the correct number card to match the objects. You can also make some of your own picture cards and pegs with numbers. And draw objects to see if children can match the number cards to the pictures. This versatile number-matching activity is both fun and effective for EYFS children learning to recognise numbers.
