When Wrestling Turns Real: John Tenta (Earthquake) vs Koji Kitao
The year is 1991. Two former sumo stars are meeting in a pro wrestling ring for the second time in as many days.
One is a kind, soft-spoken Canadian whose star is rising in the WWF: John Tenta, better known then as Earthquake. The other is a former Yokozuna kicked out of the sport of sumo and fired from New Japan Pro Wrestling: Koji Kitao.
What transpired was a complete fiasco that quickly devolved into a shoot standoff. It ended with Kitao in meltdown mode, exposing the business live on the mic and ultimately disgracing himself.
