In today’s Adobe Illustrator speed art video you’ll see how I draw pencil sketch and create flat character illustration in Adobe Illustrator.

In this illustration process I'll use the Blob Brush to make a grayscale flat design first and then will use the Recolor Artwork feature to adjust colors.

To make this flat style character illustration look more interesting, I will also use Chalk-Pencil and Dry brushes for lines and outlines. They help to achieve a 'hand drawn' look in illustration. At the final step I'll apply noise texture using the Transparency panel and Linear Gradient.
