Thanks for joining me today for this look for less decor piece using Dollar Tree items. To make the Dollar Tree (look for less) version of this IKEA piece I used:
1 small lightweight foam ball
1 football game
1 propeller toy
1 cube from the wooden cube (Crafter's Square)
1 black ceramic candleholder (but you can use whatever you would like if you want it shorter or taller)
2 square beads which you can also find in the craft section of DT
That means I was able to make a $6.00 version of a $19.99 piece of decor from Ikea. You can achieve the look for less using items you already have at home, making the cost even lower.
In the video you'll see the problems I ran into while making this project, and how I solved them to make this look for less a success. A great alternative to the candleholder is one of the small glass bowls that comes in a 3-pack. Just turn it upside, glue the globe on and spray paint it in the same color.
