HetaOni: Dead Hearts CMV
The song “Dead Hearts” is essentially about remembering friends you no longer have. We took it in the interpretation that they are literal “ghosts” as they’re described in the lyrics. The interrogation takes place after Italy escaped the HetaOni mansion, but in the case that she was the only remaining survivor. Being the only witness and having gone partially insane, she is accused of murder.
As the interrogator continues to question her, memories of her dead loved ones come flooding back in images of the ones she’s lost—her brother, Prussia, Japan, and Germany.
After hearing her story, the interrogator removes his hat and glasses to reveal that he is Germany, who she believed to have perished in the mansion with the others. They are reunited in the end and remain together, even after everything they’ve lost.
We used a few Nyo versions of the characters for convenience in both costuming and the plot. Italy and Germany are shown as 2p after escaping to enhance that they’ve become different people after the incident.
This project took over a year to finally get 100% polished and uploaded (mostly due to the laziness of yours truly!). It was pretty challenging getting everyone together on one day, keeping up the energy to get through each part, timing it to the music, and just everything. Everything in a CMV making is challenging, especially when you’ve never exactly made one on your own before!
Chasity was the director and the one who came up with the idea to put a beautiful and creative thing such as this together. She’s to thank for the plot and the choreography, and most of the filming. She also played Prussia, and did the bloody make-up. The rest of the credits are as follows:
Katy (me): Nyo!Italy, assembled and edited the video, put together the majority of the costumes, did the Steve hands, yelled at people to get to work
Shaun: Germany, constantly made dirty jokes
Elizabeth: Romano and police officer, glared at people scarily then died laughing
Haley: Nyo!Japan and police officer, smiled quietly yet wondered why she was hanging out with these insane people the entire time (probably XD no, I’m messing with you, we love you Haley!)
This would have never happened without everyone here working at it, so thank you so much you guys! ^_^ I’m so glad I have cosplayer friends to boss around and do projects with!
